Today’s music news blurbs: Wacko I, Wacko II, Jimi Hendrix

File under: Hype redefined. Wacko Jacko is reportedly furious over his being scheduled for a 50 date tour, claiming he only signed on for 10 dates. As I advised before, if you have tickets, sell, sell, sell! I highly doubt that even one date of this show will actually happen. Michael Jackson better brace himself for a fresh new round of massive lawsuits coming from all directions, or follow through. His choice!

It seems that convicted murderer and music producer Phil Spector prefers to hide his skeletons in his head rather than in the closet. No big surprise there, everyone knows he’s crazy. Rumor has it that prison rules are preventing Spector from wearing all the crazy azz wigs he’s become known for and it’s taking it’s toll on him. So what’s he doing to hold all that ka-razy in? Sources claim he’s taken to wearing hats. Hmmm, whatever. Don’t drop the soap!

Jimi Hendrix’s roadie James ‘Tappy’ Wright has just written a book which claims that Hendrix’s manager, Michael Jeffrey, drunkenly confessed to intentionally killing Jimi by stuffing his gullet full of pills and wine, that fateful night. Wright’s book claims that Jeffrey’s motivation was Hendrix’s life insurance, which he was the designated benefactor of, and that he did it because Hendrix was about to sack him. That’s really tragic if it’s true, but mind you that only one of these individuals is still alive, and that he is trying to make some cash off a book. Sad.
